Dr Gold can be contacted at the following location:

It is appreciated that it can be quite embarrassing phoning and asking for an appointment. You do not need to say what the problem is.  The receptionist will just give you an appointment date and time. You can discuss the problem with Dr Gold when you see him.

If you make an appointment with Dr Gold you will need to bring a referral from your GP with you. It is the GP referral that qualifies you for the Medicare rebate, if you have a valid Medicare card.

If you're still too shy, then feel free to read some more on this website, and phone another time.

St Vincent's Private Hospital in Darlinghurst ia a fully accredited hospital with the facilties and resources that would be expected from a metropolitan teaching hospital. It has intensive care units and fully staffed wards for patients who may require an overnight stay or longer, or require the benefits of a fully staffed and modern intensive care unit with expert anaesthetic and medical staff available 24hrs a day.

Maroubra Day Surgery

As a result of the number of you who have decided to go ahead with surgery, in order to provide excellent value private surgery for those without insurance, SydneyProctology has now become associated with City East Hospital, a modern, purpose built, Private Day Surgery Unit with excellent facilities and modern up to date equipment and technology.

As it is a Day Surgery and not a hospital it is able to provide surgery at highly competitive rates, to those who do not have private health insurance. Obviously for those who have a health fund, all health funds are approved at Maroubra Day Surgery for those who find the location more convenient. It is not however suitable for those patients who require an overnight stay.

Dr Gold will discuss with you and help you decide the best location for your treatment.

Do I need a referral from my GP?

Strictly you do not need a referral to be seen by a specialist. However, under the rules and regulations of the Department of Health and Ageing, you do need a referral from your GP to a specialist to qualify for the Medicare rebate. Therefore, if you have a Medicare card and would like to recieve the contribution from Medicare towards the costs you must bring a GP referral with you.
